Fabry-Perot bound states in the continuum in an anisotropic photonic crystal

چکیده
An anisotropic photonic crystal containing two defect layers is considered. It demonstrated that the system can support a Fabry-Perot bound state in continuum (FP-BIC). A fully analytic solution of scattering problem as well condition for FP-BIC have been derived framework temporal coupled-mode theory.

Nonlinear Fabry-Perot resonator with a silicon photonic crystal waveguide.
We derive an equation that describes the nonlinear operation of a Fabry-Perot resonator with a large group index waveguide. Specifically, a silicon photonic crystal microcavity with two-photon-excited free carrier nonlinearity and Kerr nonlinearity is assumed. The equation clearly explains the bistability of the device and the reduction of the required pump energy for a specific nonlinear phase...
متن کاملFormation mechanism of guided resonances and bound states in the continuum in photonic crystal slabs
We develop a formalism, based on the mode expansion method, to describe the guided resonances and bound states in the continuum (BICs) in photonic crystal slabs with one-dimensional periodicity. This approach provides analytic insights to the formation mechanisms of these states: the guided resonances arise from the transverse Fabry-Pérot condition, and the divergence of the resonance lifetimes...
متن کاملMeasurement of bound states in the continuum by a detector embedded in a photonic crystal
We directly measure optical bound states in the continuum (BICs) by embedding a photodetector into a photonic crystal slab. The BICs observed in our experiment are the result of accidental phase matching between incident, reflected and in-plane waves at seemingly random wave vectors in the photonic band structure. Our measurements were confirmed through a rigorously coupled-wave analysis simula...

We report GaInP photonic crystal Fabry-Perot resonators containing integrated reflectors. Efficient wavelength conversion of 30 ps pulses was demonstrated where the Kerr effect dominates and the device speed is limited by the resonator
